A mobile service is comprised of one
or more units (technologist and equipment) that provide magnetic
resonance services at one or more locations and meet the following
criteria, without exception:
1. All magnetic resonance procedures that
are performed at the mobile locations must be interpreted
by the physicians included in the application for accreditation.
2. All technologists performing any magnetic
resonance procedures at the mobile locations must be included
in the application for accreditation.
3. The entire mobile service must share the
same Medical Director and Technical Director.
4. All physicians and technologists must participate
together in quality assurance and education programs, including
in-house conferences.
5. The entire mobile service must utilize
similar protocols.
CASE STUDY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE MOBILE SERVICE POLICY
The ICAMRL requires that 5 case studies with final reports per testing area must be submitted. For complete information about case study requirements, please go to the Case Studies section.>>
ADDING A MULTIPLE SITE OR A MOBILE
SERVICE
Laboratories wanting to add a multiple site
and/or mobile service to an application that has already been
granted accreditation must complete the multiple site / mobile
service supplement and provide an updated Equipment and Instrumentation
Table. If any physicians and/or technologists
have been hired since accreditation was granted, it will be
necessary to contact the ICAMRL office regarding the submission
of staff forms for these staff members. In addition to the multiple
site / mobile service fee, there may be an added fee to review
the staff forms and representative cases. If the added multiple
site or mobile service is accepted into the laboratory's accreditation,
accreditation for the added multiple site or mobile service
will expire when the laboratory's original accreditation expires. |

THINGS
TO KNOW
IF YOU ARE A MOBILE SERVICE LABORATORY
If eligible, applicants with a mobile service may apply
with a single application and will be assessed an additional
$1200 fee for each magnet used in the mobile service.
If accreditation is granted,
it will be granted to the mobile service collectively, and
not to each location individually (although the name and
address of each location will be entered into the ICAMRL
database).
Applicants with mobile services
that are granted accreditation will receive one certificate,
listing the institution name as listed in the accreditation
agreement.
All ICAMRL correspondence
will go through the institution listed on the accreditation
agreement. |
